Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. Her modelling career began in Italy which is where she was raised and born in California. She began her acting career at the age of 16 in The TV film Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get an appearance in Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was a gruelling battle. It was difficult for her to make the transition from modelling to acting as models were not considered to be good actors and tended to be assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy was determined to succeed and eventually she was offered bigger roles starting in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. After a few years Amy made the jump to more prominent roles. The film she starred in was the love story Just Friends alongside Ryan Reynolds. Amy received the recognition she'd been looking for more than a decade. Amy went on to appear in major films such as the Crank Series opposite Jason Statham, and Shameless.
