Zoe Saldana, born June 19th, 1978, was the child of Asalia Nazario, and Aridio Saldana. Her father is Dominican and her mother is Puerto Rican. Her birthplace was in Queens. After she turned 10 years old, she and her parents relocated to the Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. Zoe was able to establish an appreciation for dance while she was living in Dominican Republic. In the highly regarded ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy Zoe was taught ballet along with other forms of dancing.
