April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US, is among a select category of females who have been awarded medals at several Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. In addition, Ross is aiming to capture her very first Olympic gold. With her age of 39, this may be her final opportunity to claim the Olympic gold. However, she's convinced that top prizes can be achieved. Ross through NBC Boston, said that when the team performs well or at all they could win a gold. It's also going to be the result of luck. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in the year 1982. Her parents as well as her sister lived in the area. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. She was a basketball player and also ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. She was clearly the best in the game of indoor volleyball. Through her high school years, she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter at the tennis court per her bio at the college. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her as the National Player in 1999. In addition, she was awarded the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been doing what they do since 2017. However, Ross was an important player in the world of beach volleyball prior to the pair. In fact, she won multiple major tournaments using two partners, one of whom is a volleyball icon. The pair teamed along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's coach. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the 2009 World Championships. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they received the gold medal. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team as well as Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate as Maytreanor resigned. They were able to win the beach volleyball bronze at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross participated in the Trojans at USC during her college years after she graduated high school. Her time at USC was impressive. The year 2000 was her freshman year. saw her earn the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Year awards and be an All-American. Her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. Her heart was broken by a personal tragedy during her sophomore year. However, she was able to make it an All-American once more. In her last two seasons with the Trojans team, she led them to a national title every year. The achievements of each individual have established her status as a legend in volleyball. She won the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross majored at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross wasn't able to watch her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. In the aftermath, Ross continues to be close to her deceased parent. Margie remains an inspiration on and off of the beach.
